Ease Norms for Admission to Typing Courses: APTCIA

Published: 14th March 2015 06:01 AM
Last Updated: 14th March 2015 06:01 AM
<span style='display:inline-block'> HYDERABAD: The Andhra Pradesh Technical Commercial Institutes Association (APTCIA) has demanded the State government to ease the entrance process for admission to typewriting courses in the State.
In a letter addressed to Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, the association listed several demands for improving the quality of courses for typewriting and computer education in the State.
To encourage more candidates to take up typewriting courses, the APTCIA requested the government to reduce the minimum education qualification to appear for the lower grade typewriting to class VIII. The members of association also appealed to the government to allow candidates with pass marks in lower grade to take up higher grade courses without any restrictions.
They said Tamil Nadu has a system where candidates can directly join the higher grade once they clear the lower grade exam.
Further APTCIA put forth a few more demands requesting the State government to make the typewriting and computer education certificate courses mandatory to apply for government jobs at entry level. To provide training, the government should introduce special courses in typewriting and computer education, the association demanded.
In the letter, the APTCIA also observed that Tamil Nadu and Maharashtra have better annual strength for typewriting exams than any other State in India. In Tamil Nadu, around 1.4 lakh people appear for the exam every year while Maharashtra has nearly 4 lakh people appearing for the exam. Both the Telugu States together have far smaller number with only 25,000 appearing for the exam every year, the letter said.
Praising the efforts of Tamil Nadu and Karnataka in encouraging the typewriting, the APTCIA said the job aspirants from these States are managing to get more government jobs because of their efficiency in faster typewriting and better knowledge in computer operation.
